CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS AT THE MUSÉE!

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING FROM 15 TO 27 DECEMBER 2024

Sunday 15 December 2024 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Creative workshop: Christmas ornaments and balls
(All ages 4 years and up!)

In this workshop, participants will create a Christmas tree ball by superimposing tissue paper and coloured sequins. A round wooden ornament will serve as the canvas for the application of layers of tissue paper, colour by colour, using household glue. Small shiny stones will add a touch of glittering magic! An original idea for a unique ornament to hang on your Christmas tree this year.

Saturday 21 December 2024 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Creative workshop: Christmas ornaments and balls
(All ages 4 years and up!)

In this workshop, participants will create a Christmas tree ball by superimposing tissue paper and coloured sequins. A circular wooden ornament will serve as the canvas for the application of layers of tissue paper, colour by colour, using household glue. Small shiny stones will add a touch of glittering magic! An original idea for a unique ornament to give as a gift or to hang on your Christmas tree next year.

Sunday 22 December 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Creative workshop: Christmas cards
(All ages 4 years and up!)

This creative workshop invites families to create a greeting card by discovering the technique of making a print using a foam sheet, a roller and impression ink. First, the children will ink a winter or Christmas motif (a snowflake, a Christmas tree, a leaf of mistletoe) on a foam sheet, before hand printing their drawing on a piece of cardstock. They will then decorate this card with different elements to embellish it.

Sunday 22 December 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
(NEW)
Creative workshop: Painting porcelain
(Adults 16 years and up!)

Thanks to a generous donation from Pébéo, participants in this workshop will be invited to explore the technique of painting on porcelain. Take inspiration from the colder weather to personalise a cup by combining three ways of decorating it: with a brush, with a marker and with cerne relief dimensional paint. A marvellous opportunity to combine usefulness and the decorative. Happy creating!

Places are limited, so reservations are essential for this activity.

Friday 27 December 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Creative workshop: A collage landscape
(All ages 4 years and up!)

Participants will be invited to create a winter landscape using a technique of enlivening torn paper with tissue paper applied to it in relief. By superimposing scraps of cardstock, pages from magazines or construction paper, a mountainous landscape will take shape. This accessible activity is open to all!

Friday 27 December 2024 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Creative workshop: Gilding on wood
(Adults 16 years and up!)

This creative workshop is inspired by a magnificent work in the educational department depicting an icon of the Virgin Mary, dating from the 1850s. In their discovery of the technique of gilding, participants will explore the application of gold leaf to a small wooden frame. They will then draw someone important to them in the manner of an icon.
