“My artistic approach essentially involves a minimalist process. The long legs and long arms give emphasis to the line and accentuate the emotion, the feeling of lightness created by the molten metal: making fluid that which is solid. I want to present these elements through each of my sculptures in a recognizable, figurative manner, to situate the person, the observer.”
Already greatly admired by the Sherbrooke public, sculptor Matthieu Binette presents a new and surprising installation in the Great Hall of the Musée. The personages and elongated forms of the artist will occupy the exhibition space in a way which creates a personal universe on the theme of the opening out and display of objects and matter.
