Luminosité et opacité : les sculptures de David James

To mark its 35th anniversary, the Musée des beaux-arts presents its first-ever exhibition devoted to the work of a sculptor in glass. The Eastern Townships artist David James produces works in moulded glass just as other artists cast in bronze. His translucent, pure and minimalist pieces seduce by the luminosity and energy they emit. Just as enigmatic, his monumental works in granite explore the duality between strength and fragility, density and lightness. This impressive exhibition offers more than 30 works which stimulate the imagination by their exceptional treatment of material, form and colour.
